Compute North Becomes Foundation Partner of Infrastructure Masons to Champion Sustainability for Data Centers Worldwide
Compute North announces new membership as iMasons Foundation Partner and joins the iMasons Climate Accord (ICA) coalition
Eden Prairie, Minn. – May 3, 2022 – Compute North, a leader in sustainable, large-scale computing infrastructure, today announced its membership as a Foundation Partner with Infrastructure Masons (iMasons), a non-profit professional association for the digital infrastructure industry. As a Foundation Partner, Compute North will support educational, networking, and industry initiatives driven by the iMasons community of over 3,000 professionals in more than 130 countries, with a focus on improving the resilience and sustainability of data centers.
“Compute North is dedicated to making meaningful contributions to strengthening the burgeoning digital ecosystem, and to helping our partners reduce their environmental impact in the process,” said Compute North’s CEO and Co-Founder, Dave Perrill. “We are honored to collaborate with iMasons’ extraordinary group of industry leaders, and excited to exchange best practices as we work together to implement forward-looking, sustainable solutions. Looking ahead, it’s clear that as U.S.-based hosting continues to grow, so too will demand for more reliable infrastructure, stable economic environments, and the availability of cleaner energy.”
In addition to becoming a Foundation Partner, Compute North has also announced that it is a founding member of the iMasons Climate Accord (ICA), an historic assembly of companies that represent some of the largest digital infrastructure portfolios in the world. Comprised of more than 80 companies, including AWS, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, the ICA is committed to achieving a shared goal to reduce carbon in digital infrastructure materials, products, and power.
Energy companies today face challenges with balancing the grid and dispatching power when and where it is needed. Compute North helps energy companies achieve this balance through its consistent and interruptible load profile, and through working collaboratively with power providers to facilitate curtailment. The dynamic power management employed by the Compute North TIER 0™ colocation and computing campuses complements the expansion of intermittent power sources like wind and solar—and in doing so, improves grid stability.
Alongside other leading technology companies, Compute North will support the iMasons mission to provide infrastructure executives and technical professionals with an independent forum to network, learn, and give back to the community.
“Compute North joining us as a Foundation Partner and an ICA member will have a great impact on our organization,” said Jeff Omelchuck, Executive Director, Infrastructure Masons. “We will benefit from their contributions of industry knowledge and dedication to sustainability and education initiatives.”
